Seatbelt violation leads to drug arrest

Thursday afternoon, the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office’s Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in reference to multiple seatbelt violations, which eventually led to the arrest of the driver, 43-year-old Jessie Carver of Silver Springs.

Deputy Saayman conducted the traffic stop on the 1995 black BMW driven by Carver in the area of North McGee Drive and Norvell Bryant Highway in Hernando.

As Deputy Saayman was approaching the vehicle, he detected an odor of cannabis emitting from inside the vehicle. When asked about the odor, Carver openly admitted to having cannabis and displayed a burnt cannabis cigarette.

Deputies find meth during warrant process

The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday found methamphetamine scattered throughout a home at 10700 W Woodland Place in Homosassa.

Detectives with the Tactical Impact Unit (TIU) obtained the search warrant after learning that the home was used to sell significant amounts of methamphetamine, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Sheriff: Domestic battery case leads to largest meth bust in CCSO history

Deputies responding to a domestic battery case in Homosassa on Friday also found what the Sheriff’s Office has said is the largest meth bust case in CCSO history.

Deputies responding to a domestic battery case in Homosassa on Friday also found what the Sheriff’s Office has said is the largest meth bust case in CCSO history.

The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) were called to 4263 South Centennial Ave. in Homosassa to assist the Department of Corrections Probation and Parole (FDC).

FDC responded to the residence earlier in the day to conduct a search of the home regarding possible violations relayed through a separate domestic violence incident reported to and investigated by CCSO on Tuesday, March 5.
