A 500-lot subdivision, located in Citrus Springs, was recently sold to Habitat for Humanity of Citrus County.
George Rusaw, executive director of Habitat for Citrus County, said that the plan is to build homes in phases. The first phase will be for 100 homes.

At the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) meeting held on March 23, a vote passed approving an amendment to the Citrus County Impact Fee Ordinance.
This amendment will update impact fees for transportation, schools, parks, libraries, law enforcement, fire rescue, EMS and public buildings to ensure they continue to be based on the most current and local data available.
