Singled Out?

Janice Tuten of Hernando accused Citrus County Commission Chairman Brian Coleman of singling her out in a recent action in which, she said, the county’s Code Enforcement department took her mobile home, possessions and an adjacent structure from her property. (December 16, 2019)

Hernando teen’s shooting under investigation

On Sunday at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) responded to North Blue Bream Terrace in Hernando in reference to an accidental shooting involving minor siblings.

Upon arrival, deputies located a 13-year-old male with a gunshot wound.

EMS response time questioned

A group of Ozello  residents have complained that EMS response times are far higher than what they believe they should be.

They told Citrus County Commissioners that, for them, the longest wait time for paramedic service by Naturecoast EMS was 80 minutes. (December 16, 2019).

Sheriff’s Office looking for Winn-Dixie robbery suspect

At approximately 8:09 a.m. on Sunday a black male with long dreadlocks entered the Winn Dixie store in Beverly Hills demanding money and fled behind the store on foot.

County landfill employee takes first place at international workshop competition

The Citrus County Commission on Tuesday recognized one of the county’s own by presenting him with a certificate of recognition of his first-place showing at an international “Road-E-O” competition in Phonenix, Ariz.

Carl Ballard, Heavy Equipment Operator for Citrus County’s Solid Waste Division, competed at the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) International Road-E-O Workshop, Oct. 24-25 at the Phoenix Convention Center, Phoenix, Ariz.
