County to resume fares for door-to-door services

Citrus County Transit (CCT) will reinstitute fares for demand response (door-to-door) service at pre-COVID rates as of Oct. 1.

Customers may be eligible for reduced fare under the Transportation Disadvantaged (TD) Trust Fund. TD program applications are available on the CCT website.

Community input forums kick off county’s strategic plan process

Citrus County government is about to embark on a process to partner with residents to develop a strategic plan for county operations.

Two community input forum events will be the start of this process. All residents of Citrus County are invited to attend and make their voices heard.

On Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021 from 9 a .m. to 1 p.m., Citrus County will be hosting the first Community Input Forum at the Citrus Springs Community Center, located at 1570 W Citrus Springs Blvd, Citrus Springs, FL 34434.

County knits EMS into fire rescue division

BOCC SealThe Board of County Commissioners affirmed yesterday that providing timely, dependable and fiscally responsible Emergency Medical Services (EMS) was paramount to the citizens of Citrus County.

The Board, as a result, voted to end their partnership with Nature Coast EMS and transition these responsibilities to Citrus County Fire Rescue.

County landfill sets higher fee for recycled concrete

  • Log OutAs of Oct. 1, the Citrus County Landfill will no longer accept concrete for recycling at $10 per ton.

    The landfill will instead accept concrete as if it were Construction & Demolition material at a rate of $60 per ton. In addition, there are multiple facilities in the county that will still be accepting concrete as recycling.
