Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deputies on Sunday arrested 37-year-old Anthony Lamar Wright of Inverness for robbery with a firearm.

“We are extremely proud of both Deputy Anderson and Deputy Bostic, along with Sgt. Laborda, who worked to quickly apprehend this robbery suspect,” said Sheriff Prendergast.

“Within 15 minutes of this crime being reported, CCSO deputies had the suspect detained and ultimately solved this case.”

Crystal River man arrested charged with aggravated battery

During the early morning hours of Feb. 17, Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deputies responded to a home in Crystal River after the occupants claimed to have been attacked by a suspect armed with a knife.

The suspect, 26-year-old Brett Carver, was later located by deputies at a local hospital where he was seeking treatment for wounds he had received from his own weapon during the attack.

Detectives Casalvieri and Bang with the Major Crimes Unit (MCU) responded to the hospital and began an investigation.

Homosassa man arrested on lewd, lascivious charges

The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) on Jan. 10 was contacted in reference to a past sexual assault of a juvenile.

Deputies made contact with the juvenile victim who disclosed inappropriate contact with the suspect identified as William (Charles) Hale Jr. on several separate occasions.

Based on these allegations, Detective Richey with the CCSO Special Victims Unit was assigned to the case and began an investigation.

Man charged with murder in Crystal River slaying

Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deputies today, along with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, arrested 26-year-old David Jerome Lemon Jr. of Crystal River on charges of Premeditated Murder, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle.

“This violent crime has affected not only the victim’s family but our entire community, robbing both of their sense of safety and security,” said Citrus County Sheriff Mike Prendergast.

Federal face mask requirement for Citrus County transit services to take effect

Citrus County Transit Services will begin enforcing a federally mandated mask requirement beginning Feb. 2.

This action is to further prevent spread of the virus that causes COVID-19 and to further support state and local health authorities, transportation partners, and conveyance operators to keep passengers, employees, and communities safe.
