Learn about coyotes at library

Coyotes are often a topic of discussion in Citrus County. The Citrus County Library System would like to invite the public to a presentation at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30 at the Central Ridge branch hosted by staff of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Golf with Inverness Sertoma

November 24, 2019 is the date set for the annual Inverness Sertoma Golf Tournament “Golf for Kids” at Citrus Hills Golf and Country Club, the Oaks Course.

Sertoman Mark Avery will be serving this year as tournament chairman. Mark your calendar for a day of golf and giving back to your community. Sponsorships are available on a first come first served basis.

Sen. Rubio’s office to hold mobile office hours in Citrus County

The Gulf Coast Regional Office of U.S. Senator Marco Rubio will be holding office hours in Crystal River on Monday, June 17, 2019.

The Senator’s staff will be at the Citrus County Chamber of Commerce from 1 to 4 p.m.

Donations help Citrus County heros

Thanks to the donations of generous community partners, the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office is now one-step closer to building their Law Enforcement Memorial for Citrus County’s fallen law enforcement officers.

Following the 2019 Peace Officer Memorial Day Ceremony on May 15 in Inverness, Jerry Orbino with Knights of Columbus Father James Hoge Assembly 1547, Warden Mike Quinn of CoreCivic, along with Jim Coburn from the National Association of Retired Law Enforcement Officers (NARLEO) presented three individual checks on behalf of their organizations to Sheriff Mike Prendergast for the memorial.

Citrus County Animal Services receives 2nd nat’l Maddie’s Fund® grant

Citrus County Animal Services has just received its second grant from Maddie’s Fund®, a national family foundation established by Dave and Cheryl Duffield to revolutionize the status and well-being of companion animals.

The Maddie’s Fund® Challenge Completion Award for the Get ‘Em Home Challenge in the amount of $1,000. Maddie’s Fund® supports the lifesaving efforts made by staff and volunteers at the Animal Shelter.
