Citrus County is pleased to announce the reopening of the Historic Citrus County Courthouse, the Old Courthouse Heritage Museum, and the Citrus County Archives at 1 Courthouse Square, Inverness on Wednesday, May 20, 2020, by appointment.
The museum will be scheduling tours at 10:00, 11:00, 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00, Monday – Friday, with special senior tours at 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. Family tours will be 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00 p.m. There will be signage throughout the Museum encouraging social distancing, and CDC recommendations.
The skeletal human remains recovered on April 26, 2020 by the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, have been identified as 42-year-old, Marion County resident, Kevin Buonocore. An autopsy showed no signs of trauma, and the cause of death is undetermined.
