Dept. of Health warns of phone call scams

The Florida Department of Health in Citrus County has recently been informed of scam calls that look to have originated from our main number: (352) 527-0068.

These callers will ask for personal information such as your social security number, Medicaid number or other vital information. These fraudulent calls do not originate from this number.

The Florida Department of Health would not call you, unsolicited, asking for your address, social security number, or other identifying information.  Scammers are attempting to obtain your data for use in their fraud schemes, costing you money. Do not be a victim of this criminal activity!

If the call seems suspicious, just hang up.
