Citrus County Landfill Recycling Center sets new operating hours

The Recycling Customer Service Area at the Central Landfill has announced new hours of operation, effective immediately.

The Recycling Customer Service Area is now open to citizens following the Landfill’s hours of operation schedule.

Regular business hours for the Landfill and Recycling Customer Service Area are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.,  Saturdays 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Sundays Closed.

Local woman seeks 5G moratorium

The controversy over 5G’s implementation has reached Citrus County.

On Tuesday, a woman called “Miss Beatrice” spoke to county commissioners about the health effects of the 5G communications network coming soon to a town near you.

Juvenile injured by stray July 4 bullet

The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the community’s assistance in locating the person(s) responsible for events leading up to the injury of a 12-year-old Citrus County resident.

On July 4, 2020, around 9 p.m., a 12-year-old was in front of their residence with family members watching fireworks, when a stray bullet struck the child.

This incident occurred in the area of West Rolling View Place, and West Southern Street, Lecanto. It is unknown what direction the projectile was fired from.
