Earlier this morning, Citrus County Sheriff’s deputies responded to several calls in Floral City concerning a suspicions person setting off car alarms in a residential area.
The subject was reported to be under the influence of an unknown substance and trespassing on several properties within the neighborhood.
When deputies and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived on scene, the subject became uncooperative, the Sheriff’s Office said. When deputies attempted to secure the subject who was being treated by EMS, the subject became unresponsive. EMS transported the subject to the hospital, but after several attempts to resuscitate the subject, they were unable to revive the individual.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is on scene investigating the incident.
