The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday morning arrested a Crystal River man following the execution of a search warrant at his residence.
The home had drawn the attention of the community, who complained to the Sheriff’s Office that they believed illegal activity had been taking place at the home at 76 NE 8th Ave. in Crystal River.
After the search warrant was served, deputies found narcotics and a firearm in the home, and arrested Neil Ivory Roundtree, 28, who has an extensive criminal history, which includes 26 previous convictions for various crimes to include several cocaine possession and sales convictions, the CCSO said.
They also located approximately 6 grams of crack cocaine and multiple items of paraphernalia. 13 ounces of marijuana were also found on the property in a vehicle however, these narcotics could not be linked back to Roundtree at this time.
“When I took my oath as your Sheriff, I made it this agency’s priority to rid our community of these types of drug operations,” said Sheriff Mike Prendergast. “I can promise you that we will continue to work diligently to kick these criminals out of our neighborhoods and put them in jail where they belong.”
Roundtree is currently on probation for unrelated charges of felony driving while license suspended, resisting without violence and fleeing and eluding in a vehicle. Because of this, he was given no bond.
