The annual career fairs will take place in Citrus County on Tuesday, March 26 at the College of Central Florida’s Learning and Conference Center in Lecanto and on Thursday, March 28 at CF’s Klein Conference Center in Ocala.

The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a missing adult, Robert Nelson Merlina.
Merlina was last seen on Friday at around 11 a.m.
He is a 27 year old white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
Merlina was last seen in the Floral City area. It is unknown what he was wearing at the time he went missing.

Removal of derelict vessel from the Shivers Bay, Homosassa River on Feb. 14, 2019)
Thanks to the efforts of Citrus County Aquatics Director Mark Edwards, and staff, an identified derelict vessel was removed on Feb. 14 from the Homosassa River.
In December 2018, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) notified Citrus County of the potential derelict vessel and later the same month, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approved staff to apply for grant funding from the FWC to remove the derelict vessel.
Today, the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) launched a public service billboard campaign against distracted driving, continuing the Sheriff’s Office’s successful “Just Drive, Citrus” efforts from 2018.
The CCSO and State Farm collaborated on a series of billboard artworks, ready to be displayed throughout the county. The message, simple – “Don’t Text and Drive”.
