USDA has millions still available for renewable energy system, energy efficiency loan guarantees

Niigata, Japan, May 12, 2019  –  Western Hemisphere agriculture leaders met today on the margins of the G-20 Agricultural Ministerial in Niigata, Japan, affirming their intent to work together to champion global food security and agricultural trade on the basis of sound science and risk analysis principles.

USDA encourages producers, rural communities to prepare before hurricane season

WASHINGTON, May 9, 2019 – May 5 to May 11, 2019, is National Hurricane Preparedness Week, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) reminds rural communities, farmers and ranchers, families and small businesses of assistance we can provide should they be impacted by severe weather this hurricane season.

The 2019 Atlantic hurricane season begins on June 1.

In the event of hurricanes, USDA can provide a wide range of help to those impacted.

USDA accepting applications to help cover producers’ costs for organic certification

WASHINGTON, May 6, 2019 – USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) announced that organic producers and handlers can apply for federal funds to assist with the cost of receiving and maintaining organic certification through the Organic Certification Cost Share Program (OCCSP).

Applications for fiscal 2019 funding are due Oct. 31, 2019.
