Due to technical issues, the Spectrum simultaneous broadcast of the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) Cardinal Street Interchange Public Workshop on Tuesday is not going to be made available.
The meeting will still be held 10 a.m. in Room 100, Citrus County Courthouse, 110 N. Apopka Avenue, Inverness.
The fourth and final quarter of Operation Coin Toss has concluded, resulting in the seizure of more fentanyl, heroin, methamphetamine and cocaine off the streets of Citrus County.
Originally started in June 2019, the first quarter of Operation Coin Toss targeted those responsible for drug trafficking and those who sell illegal narcotics.
Throughout the entire operation, the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Impact Unit (TIU) partnered with the U.S. Marshals, the Florida Department of Correction’s Probation Services, Citrus County Code Enforcement, and many other community partners.
After receiving cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), Inverness resident John Warner was taken into custody for ten counts of possession of child pornography and one count of promoting the sexual performance of a child.
Detectives with the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office High Tech Crimes Unit received tips from NCMEC on Feb. 20 detailing the transfer of child pornography through an email account.
Following up with the investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant for the suspected email account, confirming the child pornography. This email account also contained information identifying the suspect, including family pictures, vacation videos, and legal documents.
