Citrus County Commission declares local state of emergency

BOCC SealThe Citrus County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) on March 16 declared a Local State of Emergency during a special, emergency session, due to the worldwide pandemic COVID-19 virus threat to public health locally.

Citizens are asked to implement basic precautions of infection control and prevention: social distancing and staying at home when ill while practicing respiratory and hand hygiene.

  1. Why is the Citrus County EOC not providing comprehensive information concerning county activities in response to the Covid-19 health emergency? Especially since the BOCC issued a state of emergency, information in a one stop shopping location where residents generally visit during a natural disaster would be helpful to residents.
