About Citrus County Animal Services
Citrus County Animal Services up holds a mission to help protect and save the stray, neglected and abused animals within Citrus County. On average, we take in over 4,000 animals and make it our personal goal to help ensure they have a happy and successful life beyond adoption. We inspire to find progressive methods to create the best environment possible for the animals we have in our care and empower our staff and volunteers to use these methods to help ease the emotional and mental stress cats and dogs can encounter during their visits at the shelter.
About the Petco Foundation
At the Petco Foundation, we believe that every animal deserves to live its best life. Since 1999, we have invested more than $250 million in lifesaving animal welfare work to make that happen. With our more than 4,000 animal welfare partners, we inspire and empower communities to make a difference by investing in adoption and medical care programs, spay and neuter services, pet cancer research, service and therapy animals, and numerous other lifesaving initiatives. Through our Think Adoption First program, we partner with Petco stores and animal welfare organizations across the country to increase pet adoptions. So far, we have helped more than 6 million pets find their new loving families, and we are just getting started. Visit petcofoundation.org to learn more about how you can get involved. The Petco Foundation partners with BOBS from Skechers’ charitable collection of BOBS for Dogs and BOBS for Cats shoes, apparel and accessories. Over the past four years, Skechers has donated more than $4.23 million to help over 750,000 shelter pets nationwide, including saving more than 396,000 rescued pets – and BOBS continues to make a difference for animals across the country.
