Deputies responding to a domestic battery case in Homosassa on Friday also found what the Sheriff’s Office has said is the largest meth bust case in CCSO history.

The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) were called to 4263 South Centennial Ave. in Homosassa to assist the Department of Corrections Probation and Parole (FDC).

FDC responded to the residence earlier in the day to conduct a search of the home regarding possible violations relayed through a separate domestic violence incident reported to and investigated by CCSO on Tuesday, March 5.

Reward money increases in 1985 cold case

More reward money is being offered in a 1985 homicide case in Lecanto.

The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office’s (CCSO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Florida Sheriffs Association (FSA) and Crime Stoppers of Citrus County, Inc. as part of an initiative to enhance reward money for information leading to the identity of the perpetrator(s) responsible for the June 1985 homicide of an unidentified male in Lecanto.

“We are extremely proud to work with the Florida Sheriffs Association and Crime Stoppers of Citrus County,” Sheriff Prendergast said.

“Through FSA’s Criminal Apprehension Assistance Program (CAPP), we will be able to shine a new light on our Fire on the Roadside’ case to hopefully generate new leads and bring closure to this mystery.

Six arrested in three separate drug raids

Weapons cache, drugs and cash from Thursday’s drug warrants

The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) on Friday said that a total of six people were arrested in separate warrants in Citrus County on drug charges.

On Thursday, and again on Friday, the CCSO’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team and the Tactical Impact Unit served three different search warrants in the county.

Missing man

Robert Nelson Merlina

The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a missing adult, Robert Nelson Merlina.

Merlina was last seen on Friday at around 11 a.m.

He is a 27 year old white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Merlina was last seen in the Floral City area. It is unknown what he was wearing at the time he went missing.
